Agility Training

Skills Courses – 8 weeks

Basic Skills: This course focuses on jump sequences, handling skills, progressing their contact training and weave training (working towards 12 straight poles).  It is also about developing obstacle commitment and drive.  Teams are working towards competing at elementary level.

Skills & Drills: This is a progression from the previous class. Contact training is progressed, introducing all contact equipment as is weave training where teams are further proofing 12 straight poles.  It is also about developing obstacle commitment and drive.  Handlers and their dogs generally stay in this course while they are at the Elementary, Starters and Jumpers C level.

Advanced Skills

This course is generally for more experienced handlers and/or dogs who are competing at Novice/Intermediate or B Jumpers level in competition. Advanced jumping sequences are set to test and develop a wide range of handling skills.  This is to enable teams to successfully negotiate more challenging courses in competition.

Open Competition Course – 8 weeks

This is a self-directed learning course where all participants support each other to provide constructive feedback to improve handling and training skills.  Senior and A Jumpers level sequences and shortened courses are set each week with an easier option for the less experienced teams.  Guest trainers are also invited from time to time to give support to this group and to especially reward our amazing trainers.
